Arts and Culture

Judy Wolfe and Consulting Matrix have been leaders in consulting to small and medium-sized arts organizations since 2001.

Arts and culture feed the soul. People with passion and creativity are motivated to bring their vision to audiences, always in collaboration with others, often in collaboration with other artists. Achieving the vision takes years of dedication, practice, perseverance — and organization, administration, marketing and money. Artistic vision is up to you: we help you to build and sustain the organization that will support it.

Arts organizations are often on the leading edge of challenges that face everyone eventually: bringing a diverse group of people together for a common purpose; finding ways to achieve lofty ambitions with modest resources. With years of experience presenting events and working with volunteer Boards, Judy and the rest of the arts-focused members of the Consulting Matrix team (Jay Katz, Julie Gircys) have a deep understanding of the context in which Artist-run Centres, Arts Service Organizations, Performing Arts Organizations, Publishers and Presenting Organizations operate.

Judy is a founding member and a member of the Board of Directors of Arts Consultants Canada. She is also the Publisher of POV Magazine on behalf of the Documentary Organization of Canada and Chair of Hothouse for Growing Culture, Inc. (parent of This Is Not A Reading Series). She is currently a jury member for the Canadian Jewish Book Awards and is the former Chair of the Ashkenaz Foundation, producer of a biannual Festival of New Yiddish Culture. Associate Jay Katz is the former General Manager of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.
